Statement of Faith

The Cornerstone Forge is firmly rooted in the historic Christian faith as expressed in the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith. The following Statements of Faith summarize the biblical convictions that shape our teaching, fellowship, and pursuit of godly manhood. They are not intended to replace Scripture, which alone is our final authority, but to faithfully reflect what we believe the Bible teaches concerning God, salvation, the church, and the calling of men to live lives of faith, holiness, leadership, and perseverance under the lordship of Jesus Christ.

1. The Authority of Scripture

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible, and sufficient Word of God. As men, we submit our lives, leadership, families, and conduct to Scripture as the final authority in all matters of faith and obedience.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 19:7–11; Hebrews 4:12

2. The One True and Living God

We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in glory and power. He is sovereign, holy, and worthy of our fear, worship, and faithful obedience as men.

Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 6:1–5; Psalm 96:9

3. God’s Sovereign Rule and Purpose

We believe God has sovereignly decreed all things for His glory and wisely governs all events. As men, we trust His providence, reject passivity, and labor faithfully knowing our work and suffering are not in vain.

Scripture: Ephesians 1:11; Romans 8:28; Proverbs 16:9; Psalm 115:3

4. Creation, Manhood, and Responsibility

We believe God created all things by His Word and made man in His image to exercise dominion, work diligently, lead responsibly, and steward creation for God’s glory. Biblical manhood is a calling, not a preference.

Scripture: Genesis 1:26–28; Genesis 2:15; Psalm 8:4–6; 1 Corinthians 16:13–14

5. The Fall, Sin, and Moral Accountability

We believe Adam’s fall brought sin, corruption, and death to all mankind, leaving every man morally accountable before God and unable to save himself. We reject excuses for sin and acknowledge our need for redemption.

Scripture: Romans 5:12; Genesis 3:6–19; Romans 3:10–18; Ecclesiastes 7:20

6. Jesus Christ, the Mediator and King

We believe Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, is the only Mediator between God and men. He lived obediently, died sacrificially, rose victoriously, and reigns as King. As men, we bow to His lordship and follow Him.

Scripture: 1 Timothy 2:5; John 1:14; Philippians 2:8–11; Colossians 1:15–20

7. Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. No man is justified by works, strength, or merit, but solely by trusting in the finished work of Christ.

Scripture: Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 3:23–24; Titus 3:5–7; Galatians 2:16

8. Justification, Sanctification, and Holiness

We believe those whom God justifies He also sanctifies, calling men to lives of repentance, discipline, and holiness. True faith produces obedience, growth in godliness, and hatred of sin.

Scripture: Romans 8:30; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Thessalonians 4:3–7; James 2:17

9. The Church, Brotherhood, and Ordinances

We believe Christ established the local church for worship, accountability, and mission. As men, we commit to faithful church membership, mutual exhortation, and obedience to baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Scripture: Hebrews 10:24–25; Acts 2:41–42; Matthew 28:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

10. Perseverance, Judgment, and Eternal Hope

We believe God preserves all true believers to the end and that Christ will return bodily to judge the living and the dead. As men, we live soberly, courageously, and faithfully in light of eternity.

Scripture: John 10:27–29; Matthew 24:44–46; 2 Timothy 4:7–8; Revelation 22:12
